Common in older Central Texas homes. With an uncoupling membrane and extra subfloor material, the assembly absorbs the natural shifting and deflection of the wood framing, so we install ceramic tile over it regularly.
Old tile you would rather not demo
If the existing surface is flat and level, LVP can go straight over old tile with no tear-out. If it is not flat, we will tell you that at the measure instead of after.
Pets, kids and rentals
Luxury vinyl plank handles scratches and accidents better than most alternatives, and rentals usually do best with LVP or sheet vinyl for easy cleanup and fast turnarounds.
Wet rooms
Tile is the best option for wet areas because it is fully water resistant. LVP is rated for bathrooms, but prolonged standing water can seep into the seams and damage the subfloor.

Do I have to come to the showroom to get a quote?
No. Estimates are free and we measure at your place, checking the subfloor, the transitions and anything else that could change the number. Most people still come in once to compare samples, because material decisions are much easier in person than off a screen.
Can you do flooring, tile and countertops in the same project?
Yes. That is most of what we do. We coordinate the finishes so the room looks intentional rather than assembled, and we schedule the trades so the work happens in the right order.
Do you handle demo, haul-off and subfloor prep?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old flooring, plus flattening, repairs and moisture checks, are part of the scope we quote. That prep is what decides whether the new floor still looks flat in three years.
Can you install ceramic tile in a pier-and-beam house?

What flooring holds up best with pets and kids?
Usually luxury vinyl plank. It handles scratches and accidents better than most alternatives, and it lasts 10 to 25 years depending on the thickness of the wear layer. Bring it up when we measure and we will talk through the trade-offs.
